Can anyone tell me how to prevent the deceleration backfiring of a 95 Yamaha Virago XV1100? I would be very grateful for any info you can give me. Thanks!

I think it's a problem of mixture , you're getting too much gas into the engine, try leaning out the mixture Wink. It might also be an ignition timing problem so check that out too

This happened on my old TR1 and bad ignition timing was the problem. Look at that first Wink

Any results or problems? Also low grade fuel may be the problem, try changing to higher octane Crazy

Higher octane doesn't always solve the problem , he should get some professional help

I disagree low quality fuel is the major cause of backfiring

And sometimes it's in the jetting (mix)
