Intermittent problem starting my XJ 650. My compression was very low so I rebuilt the engine. Bored cylinder block and installed new
pistons and rings. Had vavle job done and adjusted valve shims. My compression is great now but some times the bike will not start. If you let it sit for a while and come back and hit the starter it will fire right up. But if it starts cranking with out firing forget getting it started. I have been through the carbs and cleaned them. For some reasonm sometimes the bike is not pulling a gas air mixture to the cylinder. 5 out of 6 times the bike fires right up and away you go. But if it starts cranking and no fire for get getting it started. A small squirt of ehter in the intake will remedy the problem but that is certainly not a fix. Any help would be appreciated.
