my sons fourstroke moped has lost power ive cleaned the carb ,airfilter, removed the exhaust to see if anything was lose changed the plug. no change it has happened before about 3 months ago stripped it down the same about 3 times rebulit it then all of a sudden the power was back but we had found nothing wrong ideas?

I can see you removed the exhaust to see if anything was loose but did you clean the inside of it? Sometimes dirt accumulates dramatically affecting power. Try riding it without the exhaust to see what happens...

Cheers for the gen, with the exhaust remove still the same but i assume that could be due to lack of back pressure to help close the valves. ive cleaned the exhaust out with caustic soda solution refitted the exhaust still the same. about the only thing i can think of now is valve clearances, but i have no info on how much ive been told its a 4 stroke honda replica any one got clearances.
rapidly losing hair any help appreciated
