Hello there,

You say all the time but is ther a specific time where you see it coming. Can you elaborate on how it happens and when? Hopefully that will give me a clue on what it may be causing the problem.

Diana

Thank you for the info. So shifting to the rest of the gears is smooth or do you get shifting trouble there too? If it's not a gear box problem it might be a clutch problem. Also it could be that particular model. My BMW slips sometimes too.

Hopefully somebody out there with the same bike will reply and give us some more feedback Crazy

Good Luck!

Maybe you are simply hitting the pedal or gearbox during a rough ride, I've come across this problem with an old friends bike, I laughed out loud when he showed me that he could shift into neural by hitting the gearbox case with his foot LaughLaugh .I don't know what could be wrong here though, this is a new bike, maybe it is a manufacturing defect, I see other people have the same problem

I have to say I agree with arkanosman, I used to be able to do that to my Yamaha too ( hitting the case), maybe the gearbox is just too sensitive Frown and you just have an even more sensitive model..damn Crazy

It happened a couple of times on my Honda too, i don't think it is a problem with the way you drive i really think it is a problem with the gearbox itself. When I got the problem checked they told me that ratcheting drum had come loose due to the vibrations in the road and engine Pirate. Strange thing to happen to a new bike 4 months after purchase

As far as i know ratcheting drums are the parts most prone to breakage in a gearbox, so i also think that's the problem

Sports bikes are known to have sensitive gearboxes even though they have lots of hp, problem is that torque is what’s killing them and not engine torque but engine braking forces torque transmited back to the gearbox

glow is right, I broke the gearbox on my old Honda while downshifting very fast. I really don't know what happened but I heard a big crack sound and the back wheel locked up...I fell really hard and the bike hit a wall. It was destroyed but after inspection they found out that the ratcheting drum gave away and the box locked up
