Honda CB750 High Idle Quote | Reply

hi everyone, im new to the forum, i have an 81 Honda CB750C with four carbs that has a high idle. after the bike warms up, the idle goes up to about 3000-3500 rpm. does anybody know how to adjust the idle on the carbs? i tried googleing it, but all i can find is the SOHC CB750 idle adjustments. And being mine is a DOHC, it doesn't do me much good. any help would be much appreciated. thanks.

big hi to jk333,
your bike takes me back a lot of years, my first 750 was a 750 k that i bought new in '74. the honda 750's was the first big metric bikes in the u.s. and great bikes. when in good running order, you can set a nickle upright on the engine ( when up on the center stand ) hit the starter button and run up around 4 grand before the nickle falls over!ok, back to your problem. sounds like you need to sinc' the carbs. you can go to clymers or hanes to buy a shop manuel. which is great to have. the carbs can be out of cinc and run fine. getting the carbs in cinc will get your bike to idle right. hope this helps. thanks for taking me back to days gone past, i really loved my 750. good lock.
