I have this problem with a 1992 Honda VFR750F when I push it close to the redline, the engine suddenly starts acting like it's about to stall and I hear loud muffled bangs beneath me. So far I’ve tried all the adjustments possible and changed the spark plugs plus an engine cleaning fluid I bought. Nothing so far, I’m afraid it will blow to smithereens

I'm sorry to hear that but it really sounds like detonation .Maybe you could get an aftermarket knock sensor that will tell you exactly if that's the problem
That's what i was thinking . I'll try to get a knock sensor and report back although my deep desire is for it to be easily fixable and non damaging to the engine
